Help in selecting my new RIB

Messaggioda BlackMarlin » 12/05/2018, 21:10

Ciao a tutti

I apologize for my English, I'm writing from Rijeka, Croatia and I need your help :pro:

My wife and I want to buy a new rib which we will keep for next 7-10years, but have no previous experience with ribs and we are lacking knowledge about brands.

I will use the boat whole year. I will use iz 80% for fishing (inchiku, slow jigging and some trolling) and 20% for pleasure. We just plan to use it for pleasure during summer to visit islands in Dalmatia.

What we look for:
- best possible build quality
-boat capable to visit island of Palagruža (preferable class B certification)
-must be hypalon
-comfortable sun deck to relax on bow for my wife (she is 163cm tall)
-I dont have a dock, so it needs to be under 2.55m wide for trailor
-cruising speed between 25-30 knots

We need build quality and see keeping ability more than luxury. Our budget is around 50.000 euros (with engine).
I was looking at ZAR 47 but I think it is too small for open Adriatic and bad weather. Now we are th8nking FOCCHI 620 TWIN would be great choice, but we can't do a test ride and have no experience so test ride would not tell us much.

What do you think would be our best fit?

Hello Black,
Look for falkor 22 rib, it is built in Zagreb and properly designed in italy for rough weather conditions
It is available in different versions in order to satisfy different client wishes. I do not know the price, i belive it should be within your budget
Cheers

:iagree: Best choice!

For the engine, my personal best choice is the Mercury 115 EFI Fourstroke Pro XS. The lightest, more efficient and with the widest choice of propellers

Blackmarlin,
your budget is good enought to find a lot of RIBS around 6/6,50 meters, everyone fitting several of your expectation.
RIB suggested by Sergetto should be a good choice, for sure below the budget. Unfortuntely you cannot find a lot of feedbacks because it is a new comer.
My RIB (MV620) is a different choice, clearly more luxury and expensive, you can find feedbacks and even my weekly reports here in the forum, try to have a look. Your budget is just OK as is but you can't save money compared to Falkor, it is more expensive.
ZAR 47 is a good RIB as well but too small, you should move to Zar 53 ... I can't suggest you it even if we are talking about a high level brand (I'm coming from a Zar).
Clearly this is my personal opinion.
Good luck, Ciao Franco

:welcome : on board :ceer:
with your budget you have a nice ... choice. you can also find excellent used type NJ650 but since you live in Istria, Blackfin's advice is to be taken into consideration. :bene:

I have a Focchi 620 Twin and I'm very satisfied but I think that if purchased new is in category C, with the recent regulations many RIB that were in category B are now C

Hi,in Youtube you can see falkor 22 and Vento 600 ,both made in Zagreb.
Falkor 22' is a New project but is present from 2013 and they sold a lot of these in Croatia...and then I think this is the best situation for you.
